Job Description
  • Provide Data Centre (DC) Operations Support & Services at Customer’s premises. The scope of works include DC Environment Support, and DC Facilities Management Services.
    DC Environment Support Functions
     Monitor the DC facilities infrastructure, to ensure they are within the operating levels defined by the Customer, including minimally:
    – Power infrastructure such as UPS(Uninterrupted Power Supply), and Power Distribution boards;
    – Cooling Infrastructure such as computer room air-conditioning units;
    – Fire detection and suppression systems such as FM200, water sprinklers, fire extinguishers;
    – Environment monitoring system such as humidity and temperature; and
    – Water leakage detection.
    Ensure the DC infrastructure is monitored on a 24x7 arrangement, inclusive of Saturdays, Sundays and Public Holidays.
     Must inform the Customer within one (1) hour when problems are detected.
     Work with the Customer and the Customer-appointed Supplier (Supplier) to resolve any infrastructure issues detected in accordance to the support hours as required by the Customer.
    DC Facilities Management Services
     Inspect & Ensure daily, the general cleanliness and tidiness of the DC are maintained by the Supplier.
     Work with the Supplier on site preparation tasks including network cabling and electrical wiring, when required.
     Ensure the network cabling in the DC and within the racks are neat and tidy.
     Work with the Supplier for both scheduled and ad-hoc maintenance, servicing, repair and upgrading
    works to the infrastructure at the Customer’s premises and premises identified by the Customer.
     Plan and coordinate the maintenance activities, including polling the affected parties, obtaining the
    Customer’s approval, and sending out messages to inform the affected party.
     Obtain the Customer’s approval before finalizing the plan for any activity.
     Provide on-site support during the maintenance activities unless otherwise agreed by the Customer.
     Maintain up-to-date documentation of the DC design layouts.
     Manage the physical security of the DC in accordance with the guidelines provided by the Customer.
     Monitor the following physical security infrastructure to ensure they are within the operating levels

    defined by the Customer:
    – Security Alarm and Security Card Access System; and – Closed-Circuit Television (CCTV).
    Ensure that only authorised personnel are allowed to access the DC(s)
    – Ensure that all visitors to DCs are escorted during their activities on-site. – Ensure that the visitors record their activities in the on-site log.

Job Requirements
  • Work on 12-hour shifts on roster to provide 24x7 operations support.
  • 3 years working experience in Data Centre Operations.Certification in ITIL v3 Foundation preferred.
  • Certification in Data Centre Facilities Operations Management (CDFOM) preferred.
  • Good customer service aptitude, and strong work ethic.
  • Self-driven and able to work independently as well as in a team.
